Start with the person's public connection. A department is the best route to a city employee. A known school narrows a Tahoma contact. An address belongs in the Assessor search, while a business name belongs in the Secretary of State filing system. For a former resident, the library, obituary collections, and grantor/grantee indexes are stronger than a current contact page.
Several sources look like people directories but require care. My Voter Information is an authenticated self-lookup, not a way to browse neighbors. A chamber roster includes only members who chose to participate. Community, congregation, and neighborhood lists may be private. Public records can identify named parties, but access rules and the meaning of each entry still control how the name should be used.
Maple Valley City Contact Directory
The Maple Valley government landing page distributes names across council, commission, department, and official pages. It is not a confirmed global staff finder. A listed entry commonly gives a name, public role, department, work telephone, and work email. Council and board pages may also show a position, term, meeting material, or appointment.

The page supports an agency-first search. If a name does not appear, call City Hall at 425-413-8800 and ask for the department. For a roster that already exists but is not posted, send an identifiable request to the City Clerk rather than asking staff to create a new list.
Search King County Staff Directories
The King County Employee Directory is broader and more searchable than Maple Valley's city pages. It accepts an employee name, a government group, or a service. That matters when only a function is known. A service search can identify the group that performs the work, and a group page can lead to its staff list, manager, main number, location, and related services.

The directory's Maple Valley Police group is especially useful because the city contracts police services through the King County Sheriff's Office. It identifies the contracted unit and its public office contacts without turning private officer information into a general roster.

Tahoma School Directory Paths
The Tahoma School District school roster lists Cedar River, Glacier Park, Lake Wilderness, Rock Creek, Shadow Lake, and Tahoma elementary schools; Maple View and Summit Trail middle schools; and Tahoma High School. Choose a school, then use its administration, staff, or department page. A public entry commonly includes a full name, role, school, institutional email, and sometimes a direct phone.

There is no verified district-wide fielded staff search, so do not treat the roster as one. The district covers a wider area than Maple Valley's city limits. A Tahoma connection identifies an institution, not proof of residence. Board pages add director roles, terms, email, meeting records, and boundary information. Student education records remain private.
Maple Valley Owner Directories
Property systems are address-first directories. King County eReal Property accepts a parcel number, property address, or condominium or apartment complex. A report may list the taxpayer or owner, situs address, mailing address, legal description, assessed values, building facts, and sale references. The start page does not expose a general owner-name search.
After finding the ten-digit parcel number, Landmark Records Search can connect recorded grantors and grantees with deeds, liens, easements, plats, and other instruments. It reaches 1976 forward online. Earlier grantor/grantee indexes from 1853 through 1975 are on microfilm at King County Archives.
Directory limit. An owner or taxpayer name does not establish who occupies the property. Mailing and site addresses may also differ.
Washington License Directories
State databases supply current role-based contacts. The Department of Health Provider Credential Search uses a person's name, credential number, profession, and status. Department of Licensing portals cover regulated professions. Labor and Industries verifies contractors by business name, registration, or UBI. The Washington State Bar Association directory uses a lawyer name, bar number, or location.
For state government contacts, start agency-first through Washington agency contact pages and the Office of Financial Management resources. The statewide structure varies by agency, so it is not safe to promise a single set of employee fields. An agency switchboard or published division page is the fallback when a person does not appear.
For an organization, the Corporations and Charities Filing System searches entity name and UBI and can show status, dates, registered agent, governors, and filing history. In Washington, “governor” is an umbrella filing term for a director, member, or manager. A registered-agent address is for service and should not be read as an owner's home.
These directories verify a public credential or entity relationship. They do not list all Maple Valley residents. Cross-check a trade name with the legal entity and local business-endorsement record when identity matters.
Search fields also vary by profession. A credential number is the strongest key when one is known. Otherwise, pair a name with profession, status, or location and compare the issuing agency's dates. Business filings can preserve prior names and filing events, while a professional entry may show a renewal or discipline link. Similar names should never be joined without a second matching fact.

That missing year list is important. Request a catalog search instead of assuming continuous coverage. Some databases require a KCLS card or an in-library visit, while physical books may sit at another regional branch.

Printed directories are only one historical path. Washington Digital Archives can hold marriages, early vital indexes, naturalizations, census records, elected-official material, and photographs. King County's historic-cemetery bibliography identifies Maple Valley-Hobart Cemetery Revisited, Memorial Records of South King County, and the Washington State Death Index for 1907 through 1996 on microfiche. Cemetery text is a lead, not a civil certificate.

Search historic names under Maple Valley, Hobart, Cedar River, Ravensdale, and Black Diamond. Modern city boundaries do not control how early material was filed. Maple Valley incorporated in 1997, so older permits, roads, and land records often belong to King County. Landmark nomination files for the W.D. Gibbon General Store, Maple Valley School, old Tahoma buildings, Olson Farm, and Lagesson Homestead can also name owners, builders, and occupants.
A sound family-history chain moves from cemetery or death index to obituary, probate, deed, and census. Each source checks the last. That is safer than treating a single directory entry as final proof.
